10 things to do in ISO

1. Call your Grandparents or an older relative.

We’re all feeling a little lonely at this weird time but the best thing is we are all in this together. Finally, we have spare time on our hands, so reach out to your Grandma, Nonna, Abuela or anyone older in your life. They will appreciate the call and you might just learn something.

2. Learn how to make a popular TikTok.

ISO is a unique time and as we are getting desperate, TikTok is the next step. Forget what people say and learn a funky dance made up by a 16 year old. You can download the app and start scrolling without an account and if you want to make an account, just make yourself private. As a self confessed Tiktoker for a couple of months now, I have definitely reached the point where I don’t really care what people think. The trendy dances are fun to learn and a bit of a flex to know. Probably one of the most famous Tiktokers is Charli d’Amelio. Charli and her new boyfriend are part of the Hype House (basically a huge house full of famous tiktoking teens in LA). They get paid the big bucks to stand in front of a camera and dance. Charli is my personal favourite to learn from as she has made most of the famous dances. (Charlie is basically the Beyoncé of Tiktok). So get your best dance moves on and learn the renegade. Who knows, you might become TikTok famous.

4. Unsubscribe from every email you don’t need

We all have them and gosh they annoy us! Go into those unwanted emails and scroll to the bottom and click that ‘Unsubscribe’ button, you will definitely feel like a new woman. I think we underestimate how many unwanted emails we have and how cleansing it would be if they disappeared.

6. Clean your makeup brushes.

Come on, you know you need to do it. Besides bacteria, brushes also accumulate dead skin cells and oil, which can clog your pores and lead to dull or broken out skin. When your makeup brushes are clean they apply makeup 10x better. Even the best makeup can become streaky  and patchy when applied with a dirty brush. Clean bristles will assure a smoother application.

8. Try on every single thing in your wardrobe to gain new outfit inspiration.

I don’t know about you but I definitely have garments in my wardrobe that I haven’t touched in quite awhile. I can often lack outfit inspiration when it comes to outfit combinations. Mix and match, go crazy and see what you find. It's worth it because we will come out of ISO looking totally boss! You’ll have outfit ideas left, right and centre, and you may decide to donate some pieces that really don’t work anymore.

9. Learn how to make pasta from scratch with Italian food  guru Gennaro

At the moment my favourite hobby is eating. Mostly eating out of boredom to distance myself from the fact that I haven’t left my house in 20 days but also because I’m Italian born, and gosh I love a good meal. My most fond memories from my childhood are sitting on the counter in my Nonna’s house and making pasta from scratch. Gennaro is an Italian food guru and can teach you how to make perfect pasta from scratch in only a couple of minutes. Treat yourself!

10. Read the new issue of MOSS magazine and subscribe so you never miss an issue.

Lucky 11. Lucky because there was only meant to be 10 things to do in ISO but we at MOSS have added something special. We have just released our first issue and I think the best thing to do in ISO is get your hands on it and have a taste of what we have been doing and what’s to come in 2020 and beyond.

3. Give your house/Bedroom a Marie Kondo makeover.

I have a friend who talks about doing a ‘spring clean’ all year round. She rarely ends up doing one but when she does it's amazing. Now, not all of us are neat freaks and find organisation a ‘turn on’ but I believe everyone has a point where the ‘mess’ becomes too much. Marie Kondo has made cleaning fun and has a different take on organisation. If you find yourself staring at the wall during ISO, chuck on a cleaning up playlist and get stuck into the Marie Kondo way of life. Check out her Netflix series ‘Tidying up with Marie Kondo’ to learn how to clean and organise properly; her folding tips are a game changer.

5. Take an online Yoga Class.

If you are a yoga fanatic or never taken a class now's the time to save some money and do some online Yoga classes. It will relax your mind, body and soul for the day. It will help those tense shoulders and racing minds. Yogo is proven to improve mindful eating, weight control and benefits the heart in more ways than one. I have been following Adriene with her 30 Days of Yoga and I have felt stronger, more aware and I’m sleeping better.

7. Experiment with new makeup skills.

After you have cleaned your brushes, give yourself a make-over! Try a 12 step skincare routine or try a new skill. Try using more blush than bronzer or master the smokey eye. You have time right now to become a Mecca makeup artist. I mean who doesn’t love a good makeover after days inside looking like the Grinch.

 9. Send an email to your future self.

So if you didn’t know this before, you do now. It is a thing! The Future me website lets you send yourself an email to your future self. You write the message and then you select a date in the future like 2 months, 2 years or 2 decades and you won’t receive it until that date. Kind of fun and funky, so give it a go.
